Women have made significant contributions to the arts for centuries, but have often been overlooked and underappreciated. This lecture illuminates the lives and works of many of these women, from the familiar like Mary Cassatt and Georgia OKeefe, to lesser-known artists like Artemisia Gentileschi and Rachel Ruysch. We will also be discussing those women that made a mark on the art scene in Provincetown, such as Jo Hopper, Helen Frankenthaler, and Edith Lake Wilkinson.
