This workshop will focus on the various components that make up good street photography, including camera settings, equipment types, approach, philosophy and aesthetic. We will discuss color and black and white processing and look at the history of street photography from around the world. There will be time allotted each day for shooting outside (likely on and around Commercial Street) as well as for critique and discussion of both past and current work by workshop participants.
The goal is to have students feel familiar and comfortable enough with their tools and knowledge to be able to take great photos of the immediate and often rapidly changing world of stories happening right in front of them every day, no matter where they are or what the setting is. The goal is, essentially, to be ready.
