Outside: Landscape Painting

Donald Beal was born in 1959 in Syracuse, NY, and grew up in Westford, MA. He studied painting at the Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA, and received an MFA from Parsons School of Design.

Donald Beal studied in Swain School of Design, B.F.A. in painting, 1077-1981, and did his Master’s in Parsons School of Design, M.F.A. in painting, 1982-1983. He is a 2013 recipient of The Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation Grant. HIs work is part of these selected collections: Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries; Wright State University, Dayton, OH; the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown, MA; the Cape Museum of Fine Arts, Dennis, MA; and the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute, Utica, NY. He moved to Provincetown, MA in 1985 and continues to live there with his wife Khristine. Beal was a Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth where he taught from 1999-2019.
