About the Exhibition
At the 10th Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, October 10, PAAM honors Provincetown artists Marian Roth and Vicky Tomayko for their contributions to the Provincetown arts colony. A dual exhibition of their work is available for public viewing at the Museum for the months of October and November.
Award for Artistic Excellence
Roth is a self-taught artist who has been working for over forty years. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, The Pollock Krasner Foundation, New England Foundation for the Arts, and The Massachusetts Cultural Council for her innovative camera obscura imagery. Roth was also awarded grants from the Barbara Deming Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts, and she has exhibited internationally and taught widely throughout New England. Roth lives in Provincetown, where she continues to work, teach, mentor, and learn.
Award for Educational and Artistic Excellence
Tomayko is a mixed media artist/printmaker. Stimulated by the collaborative atmosphere of the print shop and classroom she teaches adult and youth programs at the Museum School at PAAM, Cape Cod Community College, Fine Arts Work Center, and Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Tomayko was artist-in-residence at The Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, recipient of two Ford Foundation grants, and awarded a fellowship at The Fine Arts Work Center. She has exhibited in New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Basel, Venice, Istanbul, and Melbourne.
