Glenn Holsten’s documentary biography of the wildly popular and critically controversial realist painter Andrew Wyeth, who died in 2009 at the age of 91, is an eye-opening private look at a poorly understood public figure.

The Provincetown Film Art Series, now in its 14th year, is sponsored by the Provincetown Film Society (PFS) and Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM), and curated and hosted by Howard Karren, arts editor of the Provincetown Independent. Wednesday screenings are at 7 pm every other week except as noted at the Waters Edge Cinema in Provincetown, 237 Commercial St. (Whaler’s Wharf, 2nd floor), and are introduced and followed by a discussion.
