Cancelled: Provincetown Film Art: Le Crime de Monsieur Lange (1936)

March 18, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Film Art Series is being paused until at least March 31 and will announce a plan for re-scheduling screenings as soon as we are able.

PAAM is closing until March 31. This includes the Museum, the office, the school, and all programs scheduled through April 17. The PAAM staff will still be reachable by email and by phone (info@paam.org, 508-487-1750.), and we’ll continue to update our social media channels. Please read this letter from PAAM CEO Christine McCarthy for more information.

Le Crime de Monsieur Lange (1936)

Co-scripted and directed by Jean Renoir, adaptation and dialogue by Jacques Prévert. With René Lefèvre, Florelle and Jules Berry. In French, with subtitles. Black and white. 1 hour, 17 minutes.

From Jean Renoir’s classic decade of filmmaking in the 1930s comes an exuberant, amusing, resonant crime caper about a hard-boiled publisher and author of hard-boiled books.

The Provincetown Film Art Series, now in its 14th year, is sponsored by the Provincetown Film Society (PFS) and Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM), and curated and hosted by Howard Karren, arts editor of the Provincetown Independent. Wednesday screenings are at 7 pm every other week except as noted at the Waters Edge Cinema in Provincetown, 237 Commercial St. (Whaler’s Wharf, 2nd floor), and are introduced and followed by a discussion.
