Online Workshop: Screenprinting in the Home Studio with Vicky Tomayko

November 10 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Tuesdays + Fridays, November 10 – December 11 | 1-3pm | $380 for members, $400 for non-members

Print single or multi colored images on paper or fabric. Make hand cut stencils, paint stencils on your screen, and learn a simple photo emulsion process using sunlight for exposure. Silkscreen is the perfect printmaking alternative to working in a shop with a press. It’s a DIY process. Make posters, postcards, fine art, and printed fabrics. A variety of inexpensive, nontoxic, silkscreen kits are available. Print in your home studio or on your kitchen table. Access to a sink or garden hose is necessary for water clean up.

Vicky Tomayko is an artist who works with a variety of print methods creating one-of-a-kind works on paper. She studied printmaking in Detroit and with Michael Mazur in Provincetown. She was a fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and has an MFA in printmaking from Western Michigan University.

In addition teaching at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, she teaches at Cape Cod Community College and at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown Summer Program. She manages the print studio for the Fine Arts Work Center during their 7 month Residency Program, providing workshops and one-on-one instruction. She was an artist-in-residence at the Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School in Orleans for ten years. Tomayko was assistant professor of printmaking at Connecticut College. She is represented by the Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown and A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn NY.
