Fredi Schiff Levin Lecture: Suzette McAvoy on Stephen Pace

Suzette McAvoy discusses the life and work of Stephen Pace, in conjunction with the exhibition Stephen Pace in Provincetown, on view through September 1.
Suzette McAvoy is the Executive Director and Chief Curator at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art. She has over 30 years experience in the art and museum field, working as the Chief Curator at the Farnsworth Art Museum and Director of the University of Rhode Island Art Galleries, as well as several other notable institutions. She has curated and lectured extensively on a variety of artists, including Alex Katz, Kenneth Noland, Will Barnet, and Katherine Bradford, among many others. Her lecture at PAAM will be in conjunction with the exhibition Stephen Pace and Provincetown, and will take an in-depth look at Stephen Pace and his relation to artists in Maine, particularly the Deer Isle group – Karl Schrag, John Imber and others, and his legacy through the Pace Foundation and residency program.

The Fredi Schiff Levin Lecture Series Established in 2003 in honor of the artist Fredi Schiff Levin who was a member of Provincetown’s arts community from the 1960s until her passing in 2002.
