Critical Feedback with Megan Hinton

This virtual critique session will be limited to four artists who want to receive a critical review of their work. Each particpant’s work will be critiqued for a half hour. Megan will moderate the critique discussion among the group to engage in thoughtful and friendly feedback for each artist presenting. This is an opportunity to receive a constructive critique of finished or in progess work to evolve the artistic process. The critical feedback session is designed for the working artists with current and developed pieces of artwork in painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and/or multi-media. Instructions about how to present work virtually and details about the structure of the critique will be given in advance of the session so participants can prepare accordingly.

Megan Hinton has recently been included in Provincetown exhibitions at AMP Gallery and The Berta Walker Gallery. She also shows her work on Nantucket Island and in Rockland, Maine.

Megan Hinton is a visual artist based in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Hinton assembles materials in painting, printmaking, sculpture, and photography to reassemble personal and public narratives. Megan recently received her MFA from Mills College in Interdisciplinary Studio Arts where she was nominated by the faculty for The Dedalus Foundation Fellowship in Painting and Sculpture. Their work has been shown at AMP Gallery in Provincetown, SOMArts Cultural Center in San Francisco and The State University of New York Adirondack Visual Art Gallery. In 2019 Hinton was awarded The Murphy Cadogan Scholarship from the San Francisco Foundation and an artist residency from 20 Summers in Provincetown. Hinton has also received artist residency fellowships from The Women’s Studio Workshop, Les Amis De La Grande Vigne in Brittany, France, and Frans Masereel Centrum, an International Printmaking Center in Belgium. Their work is in the collections of The Cape Cod Museum of Art and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Megan is also a published art writer, educator, and lecturer.
