Art in the Barn: Day 2

June 8 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

PRESENTED BY TWENTY SUMMERS + PAAM

SOLD OUT! E-MAIL LMARCHESSAULT@PAAM.ORG TO BE ADDED TO THE WAITLIST.

For the third year in a row, we’re hosting two days of art-making in the Hawthorne Barn with our friends from Twenty Summers. Following a brief lecture on the legacy of Charles Hawthorne in Provincetown, teacher John Clayton will give a painting demonstration and supervise a full day of painting in the Barn. Lunch will be provided.

The class is open to all levels of experience, but please bring your own supplies. (With advance notice, PAAM can lend you an easel.) Due to the popularity of this event, you may register for only one session: May 18 or June 8. If the event sells out, we will maintain a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.

TWENTY SUMMERS

Twenty Summers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization in Provincetown, Massachusetts, founded to foster public engagement with art and artists, and to honor the legacy of art in Provincetown. It restored the historic Hawthorne Barn where that legacy began and where its festival of concerts, conversations, artists residencies, and special events take place from mid-May to mid-June annually. To visit the Barn or purchase tickets, please see their calendar of events. Please note that the Barn is only open to the public when they have a listed event. Each season they film and record all events, having now grown a rich media archive. You can watch or listen to past events for free on their videos page and podcast page.

The name Twenty Summers is a phrase in Stanley Kunitz’s poem “Route Six” connoting both the pull of Provincetown and its legacy of art.
