Taking the Photo you Want to Take: Photography with intention for beginner and intermediate photographers

The class will be comprised of exercises aimed at understanding the relationship of the three most essential technical elements of photography: shutter speed, ISO and aperture (day one.)

Day two will be about composition, intention, depth of field, light and shadow and styles of photography. Day 3 will be spent with the group critiquing the photographs taken following the first two days instruction and discussion of the work. The goal is to make the students comfortable with what can seem an intimidating, vexing tool. By interactively working on understanding how their camera works, in terms of controlling light, focus and shutter speed, students should leave the class knowing why their camera does what it does as they use it, with the ultimate aim being that they will be able to have greater control and intention and, subsequently, creativity with their photography.
