Drawing: Inside and Out
“Drawing is the coordination of line, tone, and color symbols into formations that express the artist’s thought” John Sloan Art Students’ League, NYC
This workshop will begin with drawing basic geometric shapes in perspective, shading them, and shading them using pencil and charcoal. The goal is to establish, strengthen, and meld foundational skills with individual expression. Students will spend the first two sessions inside the PAAM studio drawing from still life objects under controlled lighting conditions. For the 3rd session, students will enjoy taking these drawing skills and materials out into the streets of Provincetown. The final session will be the individual’s choice of drawing materials and subject, inside or out. The instructor will give demonstrations and lead group critiques regularly in order to facilitate a dynamic group experience. All levels are welcome.
