Daily Drawing Treks in Provincetown and Truro with Mark Adams
August 13, 14, 15, & 17, 2-6pm, $325

Provincetown offers some fantastic settings for drawing outdoors - amazing landscapes are a contrast to the crowds in town and immediately bring you into a different state of mind. Drawing anytime, anywhere, particularly in natural settings requires a readiness and focus and a little walking. You can't control sunlight, wind and weather so the comforts may be variable, but the opportunity to create an immediate response to landscape always results in a fresh and individual record of experience. In this workshop we'll walk to some favorite places in and near Provincetown and try out some line drawing techniques in conte, ink, washes and simple watercolor to create sketchbook pages as a visual journal.

Exercises and demonstrations are matched to your individual approach.

The 4-hour class time allows us to walk 30-45 minutes (1-2 miles round trip) over sand and trails to get to places that are worthwhile destinations in themselves, including Snail Road, Province Lands (dunes, dune shacks, ocean beaches); Hatches Harbor and Race Point (barrier beaches, tidal flats and marshes); Parabolic Dunes and High Head (panoramic vistas over geologic dune formations); and the West End Marsh, the Breakwater and Wood End (marshes, harbor and lighthouses). While not overly strenuous, the class just might contribute to your daily exercise regimen.
