June 8: Social Networking in Business: Social Networking isn't going away. It's become one of the most effective ways to reach and stay in touch with your audience. Whether you own a small business or are an artist, working for yourself; this seminar will teach you how to more effectively communicate with your audience.

June 29: Easily Create A Website: Despite what you may think, creating a website isn't hard. Really! Using iWeb anyone can create and maintain their own website. Did you know custom sites run on average around $10,000? Follow this method and you can build your own website, get it listed on Google, and update as necessary for as little as $200/year!!!

July 6: iPhoto and Photo Stitching: We live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Your photos should capture it! We'll cover topics like how to organize, edit, and share your photos with others. David will also teach you how to photo stitch a series of photos all into one giant panorama.

July 13: E-Marketing - Keeping in touch with your customers or "fans" can greatly influence someone's decision to do business with you again. E-marketing is about having a relationship with your customers and engaging them.

July 20: iPad Seminar - The iPad has changed everything. What's probably the most remarkable feature about the iPad is the amazingly minimal learning curve it takes to learn it. Today we'll go over everything from general operation to tons of cool Apps.

August 3: Get Your Business on YouTube - We'll be covering how anyone can use a few photos with "The Ken Burns Effect" to create a short mini-documentary on their business and get it put on YouTube. This is great for anyone whether you're an artist or a guy who sells pink cupcakes.

August 10: iPad Seminar (repeated)

August 24: Group Consultation for Individuals and Small Business Owners - Let's talk! How do you use technology in your business? David will meet with everyone and help suggest ways you might not have thought how to use technology to improve everything from web presence, communication with customers, marketing strategies, etc.

David A. Cox is an Apple Certified Product Professional and offers private lessons to seniors, as well as consulting services to small businesses, and anyone wanting to know how to use their computer better. He teaches public seminars in Orleans every Saturday at Core Computers in Orleans, up to 4 online seminars a week, and has over 50 Mac Tutorial Videos on YouTube, attracting over 50,000 hits. In February of 2011, David was hired to become the head Technology Writer for the popular online magazine, OneNewEngland.com. David also produces and co-hosts "Tech Talk America," a consumer friendly radio podcast which is broadcast internationally via iTunes and can be downloaded for free.

On teaching:
Everyone when they were young had that one teacher that just stood out. It wasn't necessarily because they taught a subject matter that they cared about, but because the teacher showed an interest in their students and understood how to the engage a classroom. Teaching is not a monologue, it's about having a dialogue with your students so that they can receive the maximum benefit. I love teaching technology to people because there is nothing more rewarding than to see someone's face light up when they finally "get it." Or when they discover something they never thought was possible in fact is possible.

What students said:
"What makes David an amazing teacher more than anything is his seemingly never ending amount of patience. When you're working with older adults, sometimes it takes them a few tries before they get it. David truly works with you and never makes you feel like an idiot. What sets David apart from every other computer teacher is that he is more than just a good teacher, he's an amazing communicator." - Ellen Anthony
