This class is designed for the individual who does not have a background in art but has always longed to learn. We will cover the basics of drawing, the development and creation of perspective, and color mixing to name a few areas of studyand we’ll help overcome any fear you may have of using the right side of your brain. Each session will be devoted to a different subject: drawing from the model, working from the landscape or still lifes, and investigating printmaking. Materials to be used include charcoal, ink wash, watercolor and acrylic paints. All materials will be provided; all you need to bring is your eagerness to learn!
Materials fee will cover all materials used in class, including vine and compressed charcoal, charcoal paper, watercolors, acrylics paints and medium, and Plexiglas. Students are welcome to bring along any additional art materials they have on hand, including sketch books. This workshop includes afternoon access to the studio during non-class time.
