Drawing is the foundation for all other art forms. Art making is rooted in the ability to work out ideas and concepts through drawing. Drawing is both a vocabulary of its own and a springboard for work in other mediums.

Using simple exercises, this workshop will help reveal new technique, direction and imagery in your drawing. Perfect for anyone who wants to loosen up their style and aesthetic, this class is open to artists of all mediums and proficiencies and is an ideal setting for generating new ideas. The focus is on exploration and experimentation, not on perfection and completion.

Please bring drawing materials and mediums both familiar and foreign to you. Also, bring a small example of your work or ideas. We will briefly look at some contemporary artists who use drawing as their primary approach as well as pay homage to the pioneers of modern drawing.
Tim Winn is currently a Masters of Fine Arts degree candidate at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s Low-residency Program at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. He received his BFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and also studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
