This class will explore the use of ink, applied freely and expressively, with various pens and brushes, working either from still-life or from the imagination. Some of these drawings will then be developed further, by adding color using gouache – a water-based paint prized for its rich pigmentation and opacity – or acrylics, if preferred. Both ordinary drawing paper and rice paper will be used.
As always in my classes, experimentation with the media and with the artists’ spirit will be encouraged. This workshop includes morning access to the studio during non-class time. |
