The Courage to Create
We are living at a time when one age is dying and the new age is not yet born. A choice confronts us: shall we, as we feel our foundation shaking, withdraw in anxiety and panic? Or shall we seize the courage necessary to preserve our sensitivity, awareness, and responsibility in the face of radical change?
Dr. Rollo May, excerpted from The Courage to Create

It is through our experiences with art that we find contexts for meaning-making and beauty. Engaging with art can create a place in us where the mysteries, contradictions and complexities of existence reside. Over thirty years after it was published, Dr. Rollo May's text, which argues for the necessity of active creativity in the face of uncertainty, has never felt more relevant.
For ninety-five years the Provincetown Art Association and Museum has fostered creativity, celebrated contemporary artists, and preserved the rich artistic history of Provincetown for the next generation. Founded by artists, PAAM continues to support and be supported by the skills of dedicated teaching artists who live and work on Cape Cod.
When you choose to participate in PAAM's educational programs, you not only nurture your creativity, you help ensure that learning in the arts is available to children, youth, and adults in our extended community throughout the year.
In these pages you'll find a wealth of talent: individuals whose skills are accompanied by a generosity of spirit. PAAM's teaching artists combine their technical expertise with their joy in creating. With over seventy workshops to choose from, June through September, and thirty new offerings (including our inaugural computer classes) now is the time to learn and grow at the Museum School.
