From Charles W. Hawthorne to Hans Hofmann, to the community of artists who call Outer Cape Cod home today, Provincetown has been the destination of gifted teaching artists, and rank beginners serious about learning.
Continue the tradition of putting a brush loaded with color to canvas or working a palette knife against the uncharted surface of a gessoed board. Paint in the field (see plein air) or study a variety of approaches in the studio.
Classes include The Art of Influence, which offers the opportunity to study from masterworks in PAAM’s collection, and Doug Ritter’s From Hawthorne to Hofmann, in which participants will consider and creatively explore the first 50 years of painting in the 20th century.
