Seeing & Mixing Color with Amy Kandall, August 26-29, 1-4:30pm $300

A solid understanding of color relationships and approaches to mixing color are essential to any artist working in acrylic or oils. In this workshop both beginning and experienced painters will benefit from a hands-on investigation of color theory. Exercises utilizing a variety of subjectsincluding still-life, landscape and the figurewill hone each
participant’s observational skills and build on the basics of color mixing to successfully translate what is seen into paint. Open to beginning and experienced painters.
This workshop includes morning access to the Museum School studio during non-class time.

Amy Kandall was born in New York City in 1967. She received a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Purchase and a Master’s Degree from Bard College in Painting. She has taught art in a variety of settings: at the high school level for the past thirteen years and the masters level through Salem State University. Her portraiture has been exhibited at the Schoolhouse Center, most recently in a solo exhibition entitled “Pupils, a Portrait of Adolescence.” The show consisted of fifty portraits completed in 3 hour sessions during high school detentions periods. Her work has also been exhibited in California; New York; and Osaka, Japan. On the Cape, Kandall has exhibited at the Cherrystone Gallery, DNA, East End Gallery, The Fine Arts Work Center, and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.
