Children’s Construction Class with Elspeth Halvorsen for Children 5 and Up, July 11& 12, 10-12:30, $60

Children will work with hammers, nails, wood, and glue (all provided). They should bring found objects to class, such as small mirrors, springs, broken jewelry, clocks, stones, etc. They will build three-dimensional constructions from class to class, as their first attempts inspire new ideas for additions and changes. Children will be encouraged to title their finished work, and there will be a mini-exhibition for parents and siblings at the end of the last class. Children are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch and/or snacks to the workshop.

Elspeth Halvorsen received a B.A. degree and took graduate studies in Art Education, Art Therapy and Teacher Certification at Purdue University in Indiana. She also studied at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiére in Paris, France, the Art Students’ League and the New School for Social Research in New York City.
