Artists in Their Studios: Into the Garden with Franny Golden in Brewster, July 28-August 1, 9-Noon, $300 (5 student limit)

Come study with Franny Golden in and around her Brewster studio. The location is set on over an acre of land—replete with mature gardens, birds, and deer—and abuts conservation land and old bogs. Using multiple aspects of these environs, students will be guided to create a series of works in the media of their choice: pastel, charcoal, acrylic, oil, or mixed media.

Franny Golden is a recipient of an NEA Fellowship (London, England), several Ragdale Foundation awards and scores of international prizes, and she holds three university degrees. She currently divides her teaching and painting time between Cape Cod and France. Her numerous solo shows have been exhibited in such cities as Istanbul, Turkey; Chicago, Boston, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Saratoga, CA, and a one-woman show at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, 2003. In addition, she is a published writer, a 25-year adjunct faculty member of Cape Cod Community College, and has taught painting at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, the Massachusetts College of Art, and in the accredited program at the Museum School at PAAM. Her work is in numerous private and museum collections throughout the world.
