The Ultimate Critique: For the Intermediate to Advanced Artist with Franny Golden. August 18-22, 1-4pm, $275

Half of making art entails the ability to look at and assess what one has created. Through the practice of looking and looking again, each artist can learn to cultivate new ways of seeing and to develop visual problem-solving skills.
In this workshop, participants are asked to bring three to five, two or three-dimensional works of art to the studio. Artist/professor Franny Golden, well-known for her lively, insightful and straight-forward critiques, will facilitate a series of critical discussions in the spirit of disciplined and rigorous inquiry.
Participants should bring work that feels unresolved, unfinished, and/or work that is ripe for critical assessment. Class time will be divided between discussions of submitted work and hands-on time to re-enter each work of art and respond to critiques. Participants should bring art materials appropriate to their individual processes. Art should not exceed 30” in any direction.
