The Writing on the Wall: Writing About Art with Philip Yenawine

Students will explore various materials, and approaches in learning to see. Each participant can expect individual attention and instruction, based on their own concerns and needs. Fast and slow poses will be combined throughout the class to allow for varied approaches to drawing the figure. Group discussion will be a component of the learning experience. Level: for beginners and up.

Selina Trieff studied with Hans Hofmann in New York and Provincetown. She received a BA from Brooklyn College where she studied with Ad Reinhardt and Mark Rothko. She is represented by the Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown, the Lori Bookstein Gallery in New York, and the Ruth Bachofner Gallery in California. She has shown extensively in the United States and in Europe. Her work is represented in many public and private collections, and she has taught at various colleges and art schools.

 

Selina Trieff Materials List

Bring a large pad (18 x 24) of paper and a drawing board.
Participants can use any kind of drawing materials he or she wishes:
watercolor, pencils, charcoal, pastels are welcomed.
It is suggested that beginning students use dry media.
