University of Maryland, receiving a BA in Fine Arts,
with further studies at Maryland Institute of Art,

In
1981, Ms. Smith returned to Provincetown to resume

the renowned artist and a practitioner of the single
block, multicolor print developed in Provincetown
in 1916. Since 1981, Smith has continued to produce
traditional white-line prints professionally. She
has been a year-round resident of Provincetown since
1988, teaching at the Museum School since 1991 and

She

print, teaching workshops in the U.S. and Japan.
Ms. Smith's work is represented in museum and private
collections nationally and internationally; she
is represented in Provincetown at the Schoolhouse
Center.
"I
am concerned with the relationships contained within
the image, as well as the translation of object
to artist to viewer. Much of the class is devoted
to learning the skill and technique of the medium,
incorporating principles of design and composition,
and an exploration of color within the white-line
format."
