In this workshop, children will be invited to make
their own stuffed creatures and to fabricate the imaginary
world their creature inhabits. They will first draw
sketches of what they wish to make, choose the materials,
cut the fabric, sew by hand, then stuff and decorate
their creations. Children will be encouraged to use
their imagination in the making of the stuffed animal’s
world (like a tree house, with a special sleeping bag
for their new creature.)

French born artist Nathalie Ferrier is a graduate of
the ECOLE de HAUTE-COUTURE de PARIS. She has worked
as both a designer and modeliste for Christian Lacroix
and Thierry Mugler, among others. She is also a painter,
sculptor and video artist and shows her work at The
Cherry Stone Gallery, Wellfleet ,MA. In 1995 she created
Born To Be Wild (a toy company); the line is sold at
MoMA,
the National Gallery and specialty stores.
