Ramón
S. Alcoléa was born in Seville, Spain, studied
at the Corcoran School Of Art in Washington D.C.,
and graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC
in 1985, with a BFA in Sculpture. He has received
grants from the Massachusetts Local Cultural Council,
New York State Council on the Arts and the Pollock-Krasner
Foundation; Residencies and Fellowships from the Virginia
Center for the Creative Arts, Ragdale Foundation,
Blue Mountain Center, Cummington Community of the
Arts and The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture,
among others. He was a member of the Honolulu Printmakers
in Hawaii from 1992 to 1997, where he refined the
technique of using monoprints to create collage-monoprints.
He has lived in Provincetown since 1989
and is represented locally by the Schoolhouse Galleries.
