Student Mentors Assist AOTE Students in preparing canvases
The Reaching Forward Student Mentor Program
The Reaching Forward Student Mentor Program is designed to provide professional development in the arts for youth and young adults aged 17-21 years, while presenting positive role models for middle school students in an engaging professional studio and museum environment.
Student Mentors work with skilled teaching-artists and educators and receive training to support Art on the Edge (AOTE), PAAM’s Saturday arts program for 12 to 15-year-olds. Mentors aid AOTE students in the creation of artwork in a variety of media over two twelve-week semesters. Art on the Edge culminates with a student exhibition in the museum galleries.
