| The color experiments of the J. Albers color courses will be the basis for the discoveries of this trip through the exciting world of color.
Color-aid paper and collage techniques will be used to sharpen perception and insight into color interactions and behavior. The Albers color curriculum will be followed by Ati Gropius Johansen, graduate student of Albers and daughter of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius.
In addition to being on the faculty of The deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA, Ati Gropius Johansen has given courses and lectures at the Museum of Modern Art, NY, NY; the Santa Fe Art Institute, New Mexico; in Boston, MA at The Boston Architectural Center, Simmons College, and Historic New England; the Worcester Art Museum; Bridgewater State College; SUNY Dutchess; and the Walter Gropius Schule in Erfurt, Germany. Her earlier career as a children’s book illustrator and graphic designer included illustrations for some 46 books, an Art Directors Award, and numerous exhibition designs. She currently resides in Wellfleet, MA.
